Colt's-Foot (tussilago farfara)

Sometimes mistaken for Dandelion with it's similar yellow flowers, closer inspection will reveal scaly purple or reddish coloured stems where the Dandelion has a smooth green stem.

Colt's-Foot also produces a clock of airborn seeds quite similar to a Dandelion after the flowers have faded.

Colt's Foot is often found on disturbed ground, particularly on clay soils.
