Jepson's Clough Waterfalls

An amazing group of cascades in a small rock gorge in Jepson's Clough formed by erosion of natural bedding planes in the rock, although the largest drop of the falls seems to have been cut by a small quarry on the East side.

Often viewed from the well trod foot path on the West side the visitor will find tantalising glimpses of the falls from above the small gorge with no easy route down to get a better look. The waterfalls in Jepson's Clough are more accessible from the West side, but care is needed to descend into the small quarry.

This waterfall and surrounding area is marred by the prescence of litter from the local school and by a little graffiti on the quarry walls. It is possible to find a good angle for photography and the shaded location lends itself to the long exposure techniques that are popular with waterfalls.
