Chicken of the Woods or Sulphur Polypore

A very large and brightly coloured lemon-yellow to orange fan shaped fungus.

Found on deciduous trees from late spring to autumn.

I know where a few of these grow and some are seen harvested in certain places. The one in the photos was on a tree close to High Bullough Reservoir until 2015 when the old tree fell over.

Edible when young and fresh, a delicacy to some.
