Common Sandpiper

A summer visitor with brown wings and white body and a long beak.

The Common Sandpiper is a wading bird that prefers to live at the seaside when visiting the UK during summer, but you can sometimes see them at some of the lodges and lakes around the West Pennine Moors area. This one is a juvenile as indicated by the white wing stripe.

The Common Sandpiper winters in Africa.
