Mole

A small, mostly subterranean mammal with usually dark or black fur but can be pale brown to cream.

Moles can be found almost everywhere in the West Pennine Moors area and although they are quite a rare sight, the molehills they leave behind are very common.

Moles spend most of their time underground in their extensive tunnel systems but they are sometimes seen on the surface and surprisingly, swimming.
